During my pregnancy around 19 weeks I found a pregnancy and postpartum certified fitness coach that I started going to for group training sessions with other local moms. Working with a coach gave me the ability to ensure I had good breathing for core engagement, proper form, and the ability to make modifications as I got further along in my pregnancy.
Postpartum I went through a pelvic core program prior to even lifting a single weight. When I did get back to the gym I had someone helping me modify through tailbone pain and making the modifications my body needed.
I kept seeing former colleagues and peers posting about pain, leakage, and everything that we try to "normalize" after having a baby. News flash: It is not normal! I decided to get my certification as a pregnancy and postpartum fitness coach. Now here we are just trying to help one mom at a time.
